Dispensing Information

DRUGS PRESCRIBING
With increased scrutiny of dispensing veterinary
medicines and the worldwide reduction of antimicrobial
usage ALL medicines dispensed from Axe Valley Large
Animal office will need to be authorised by a vet 1st
before leaving the premises.
We request that any drugs you require, where possible,
are ordered by 9.30 am. This is so that a vet can check
the items in line with the RCVS regulations.
Any drugs ordered after this time will have to be
authorised by a vet at lunchtime so may not be
available until after 2pm.

PRESCRIPTIONS
Prescriptions are avaliable from this practice
You may obtain Prescription-Only Medicines Veterinary
(POM-V's) from your veterinary surgeon OR ask for a
prescription and obtain these medicines from another
verterinary surgeon or Pharmacy.
Your veterinary surgeon may prescribe POM-Vs only for
animals under thier care.
The general policy of this practice is to re-assess
repeate prescriptions every 6 months, but this may vary
with individual circumstances
The standard charge for prescriptions is £24 (inc VAT)
(correct as of May 2023)
There will be an additional charge for re-examination
